OSCAR GÁRATE
Executive Director
Veterinarian Doctor from Chile’s Austral University. Oscar started his career in Trouw Suralim S.A., as sales and technical support manager. Subsequently he founded Aquatic Health Chile S.A. providing technical (analytical and certification) services to the salmon industry focusing on production and health aspects. Oscar served as Technical Director of Intesal, SalmonChile, and is currently owner and director of Aquabench as well as executive director of Sealand Aquaculture.
HANS DEN BIEMAN
Director
A graduate in Animal Sciences from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, Hans has more than 30 years of experience as an executive in the aquaculture industry worldwide. Starting in research and development, he was regional manager for Nutreco in the USA and was general manager of Nutreco Chile. Moving back to the Netherlands Hans became Nutreco’s COO Aquaculture, and later CEO of Marine Harvest. He also served as Director of Morpol and Salmones Multiexportfoods. Along with Sealand Aquaculture Hans is, among others, chairman of the board of the Kingfish Company and the Barramundi Group.

EDUARDO WALDRON
General Manager
Chemical Civil Engineer and a graduate of Environmental Engineering from the University of Concepción, Eduardo started his career at Congelados del Pacífico as Process Engineer and Head of the Environmental Department. Subsequently Eduardo got his MSc-degree in Energy Studies at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Back in Chile, Eduardo became Deputy Operations Manager for RAS systems at Akva, the leading equipment supplier to the aquaculture industry. Eduardo joined Sealand in 2011 as Plant Manager and became General Manager in 2016.
ALVARO LARRAÑAGA
CEO
Alvaro is a commercial engineer from the University of Concepción and holds an MBA from Adolfo Ibáñez University. Alvaro has extensive experience in the area of finance in national and international companies. At the start of his career Alvaro was employed by Odeplán, Radiotrónica de Chile and Celulosa Arauco – Constitución. Alvaro was the Planning and Finance Manager of Legrand / Ticino Chile and the Administration and Finance Manager of Exportadora Chiquita Chile S.A. Later Alvaro worked as Controller for more than 12 years at Skretting Chile, part of the Dutch Nutreco group, his responsibilities included Administration and Finance. In June 2013, Alvaro joined Sealand as Chief Financial Officer.
